9:00am- Somehow we ended up on 215 and have no idea where it goes. Who gives a rat's ass, anyway! All I know is it is a N-S route and its warmer to the south. Its a barren road with nothing on it. I am carrying a pretty good load in my pack, today I'll go through it and eliminate what is not needed, We pitched the tent last night at the intersection of 221 & 215, behind a store, somewhat still in the residential section of town. Lots of pedestrian traffic back and forth to the store. And of the colored persuasion. Great!Everything is on an incline and all my stuff kept sliding to the downside of the tent. I'm in another world, for sure. We were gone before sun-up.
11:00am- Just passed a sign that said Union was only 17 more miles. We'll never make that today. I bought Skil's three cans of food for him and I'll get 2 more tonight down the road. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSIE!
The lady at the store said that it is all country after I pass Union, wonder how she knows I'll pass Union.
1:00pm- I met a wonderful lady outside of Pauline today. She gave me $7.00 and said she had to go to the Drs. right now, but tomorrow she'll come looking for me in Union. I don't know why, but I hope its to feed me and my little boy. She told me that Union was a good sized town and its famous for Susan Smith running her kids into the lake. Cool! She said there is a Salvation Army and maybe I can find a job around there. So. Here I come Union!
