1:00am- Just after midnight and trying to get to the dumpster and find Skil's something to eat. He has dry-food, but if I can conserve some and find him something else. Then that practice might come in handy for when we get stranded somewhere. Everytime I head over to the dumpster, though another delivery truck pulls up. They must get all the deliveries for the week-end on Thursday night.
11:00am- I think we are on the other side of Sumter now, at a drive-in movie place, that has long passed seeing its last movie. Theres a grove of trees 30 feet high growing in here. So, it must have been a while since it was opened. This town of Sumter seems to have some history, from the Civil War, seems a Gen. Potter marched through here and burnt everything to the ground. Sounds like one of the Potter's. While sitting here a man just pulled up and gave me 2 ham sandwitches, vienna sausages, can of peaches, 3 pepsi's and $5.00. He said he saw me walking down the road earlier, good thing I was out where he could see me. This would never happen in Florida, why is that? This pull-along is great, but I still feel funny with it walking down the highway.
2:15pm- The next town is 20 miles and no way will we get that far today. So, we'll walk another hour and start looking for a campsite. We are walking down a frontage road that runs along the highway (76). You have to keep looking over your shoulder so you don't get mowed down. I'm going to try and find a store to camp near.
6:15pm- Still walking down the frontage road and haven't found anywhere safe looking to stop. I am befuddled now, to say the least, the damn road just stopped at the edge of the woods. Whisky Tango Foxtrot! I have came 1500 miles or so, and hit a dead end, not hardly, I grabbed my stuff and took off through the woods. We fought those brambles and briars for over a mile until we hit another road. We came out of the woods at 378 & 76 and a truck was working there , so we kinda stayed in the woods out-of-sight until he left. Now to figure out where the hell we are at.
