Bull (shit) Durham

December 27, 2001- Thusday- Day 62
9:45am- We are taking a break right outside of Durham, NC. and its a warm 40F as of this moment. Last night in the dark we found some woods near a horse pasture. This morning as we were packing up I noticed that the horse pasture was solid white from the ice. Can it get any worse. I have never spent the winter out of Florida, I think I am going to get a shocking lesson out of this trip. We are looking for a camp-site early today that we can build a fire at. But I don't think it'll happen, I have Durham and Chapel Hill to pass through before I see any woods again. Walking along this morning a cop pulled up behind me and said get out of the road on her intercom. Too cold for her to get out and harass me. I got out of the road, though. We are sitting at a picnic table at a little store trying to figure out which direction to go in. I am all turned around now.
2:00pm- We just crossed the Research Tri-Angle ( whatever that is) and starting to look for a place to stay tonight. I should have took US 64 , but we are to far north of it now to turn back. Maybe I can hook up with it out passed Greensboro somewhere. I really should be heading for Buffalo NY, they are getting a foot of snow every hour. I figure if I am going to be cold I should go all out. I am getting all my news from the headlines in the paper machines, don't get all the info but I get the topics.I hope we can find somewhere soon to camp, I don't want to walk all night without snow shoes. That is another worry for me, the snow, I don't think it snows often in the Carolina's , but it does sometimes. I have never been snowed on. Nomads aren't able to pick their weather conditions, I guess.
