6:30am- I am sitting here waiting for daylight because I dropped my wallet somewhere last night and its got my dog-food money in it. We are gonna head on down US76 toward Myrtle Beach, last time I went through there, it was buzzing with work. That was 10 years ago though! I slept pretty good last night.
2:00pm-Just ran into 2 lovely little girls coming out of a driveway, curious minds, asked me what I was doing walking down the road. I told them some of my story and they said wait right here and went back to their house. I,m thinking, now what!
They came back with a suitcase with wheels on it (one of those pull along things). They packed it with dog-food, pnut butter, jelly, crackers, 3 pepsi's and a coat. Then their father Trent came up and asked me back to the house for a hot meal. But Skil's tried to get him and I don't go around anybody that I have to be super alert around. Not, that Trent was a problem, its just that I never relax when anybody's around Skil's. Whole lot of good people in this world, that do not live in Florida. Could it be caused by living at sea-level?
Trent said he would go over to a construction job and see if they needed any help, but, I declined because I am still kinda in the town. After an hour of just hanging out and me listening about how great S.C. is, and being bombarded with questions about my trip, I headed on out. With my rolling suit-case, oh lord! I am really embarrased pulling this thing, but I couldn't hurt the little girls feelings. I'll wait til I get down the road away from here and pitch it.
4:00pm- We are sitting in the woods behind Food Lion in Sumter and I just hit the dumpster, just before the truck got to it. We were picked up shortly after we departed the girls and taken about 30 miles down the road. There was nothing for Skillet, but there was a box of bear-claws, garlic bread-sticks and homemade deli rolls. We are right in the flight-path of Shaw AFB and it doesn't sit well with the little boy. It seems like you can just reach up and grab one of those F-15's. Still have the pull-along and I am very undecided about it. All my clothes are in it now and my tent rides on it well. Plus the fact someone picked me up pulling it along. I'll tolerate it one more day, then make up my mind. It is a handy gadget!
