5:00am- We only got as far as Ogden yesterday, with my back and feet in the shape they are in. Right now, we are behind a Food Lion and we have hit a goldmine. I can only carry so much though. We'll leave some for the next vagabond passing through. Leaving Wilmington yesterday I slipped coming out of Carol's house and didn't help my back at all. Why is there ice on the concrete steps, I ask? I am starting to have doubts about the intelligence of Carolina folks. Seems like everytime one of them gets a $20.00 bill they have to get in the car and hunt someone to give it to. I have recieved 2 of them today. Could be the Xmas spirit too, I guess. We got rain last night but at least it wasn't as cold as the night before. But I was inside the night before, but know heat, while ice was forming on everything outside.
11:00am- Just passed Scott's Hill, should hit Hampstead next. All week the temps. are going to be lows-20's highs- 50's. Going to be real interesting!
11:30am- We are in Holly Ridge about 20 miles to Jacksonville, and we probably won't go much farther today, I am hurting. I need a back transplant! Have to take it easy until my back and poor ole' feet can carry on. Skil's cut on his foot is getting better, thats a relief! That last ride to Holly ridge was a big, big help!
