Cramerton Departure Tomorrow!

January 14, 2002- Monday- Day 80

1:30pm- We just got back to the camp from a little trek to the next town, Lowell. This morning I fed Skil's a whole deli-chicken. I think the shortage of food had a lot to do with his acting poorly, since Friday. I just hope he's not getting sick, I can't handle seeing him feel bad. When we leane here its going to be a tough haul down to Gastonia, there is no sidewalks or a shoulder to walk on. We'll just have to be careful, we came this far, and getting run over aren't in our plans. I feel really dirty and I need to find a place to get cleaned up. We are leaving in the morning, this afternoon when they close the deli, I am gonna stock up on Skillet food for the trip. I had to compete with a couple guys last night, when they brought out the deli stuff that didn't sell, there was two guys waiting in a car. I just walked up and said, Hey let me have one of those chickens for my dog. They gave me one, but tonight I'll be there first, and they can ask me for something. I wish I would have kept that blanket I found yesterday walking here. It was laying on the side of the road, probably blew off the back of a truck. But it was frozen stiff, stuck straight out, and I didn't want to wait for it to thaw out.
