12:00noon- I followed that last rides instructions and he was on the money. We walked most of the day and finally called it a day in a township named Cliffside. That was a good name for it too. Me and Skil's had to climb down a cliff to find a place for the tent. I guess this is what the folks in these parts call a hollar'. Wasn't to cold last night, I would think in the 40's. It is hard to walk in this country due to no shoulder along the road. I kinda just use the road itself and hope I hear a car before I get flattend. I am close now and if Danny hasn't got anything going, the plan is to head to Pensacola. See my sisters, probably for the last time, and head it west, (Go West young man!) There is a whole lot of places I want to see and if walking is my mode of transportation, it'll probably take more than a few weeks.
We are in SC now on US11 which is the road that goes to Danny's. We are at a Berry Farm, not sure what kind of berries, but its a hot tourist spot. They don't have food here, except for vegetables and fruit. I'm glad I bought Skillet 2 cans of food this morning in Cliffside. No phone here either, so we'll walk some more.
4:00pm- I just talked to Danny, and he doesn't have anything yet. No Good! I don't have a plan for the next couple days, but Danny ask me to wait. He has some bids out and something will come through. He also said he would bring me some dog-food.
I am camped on the Pacolet River under the bridge, really nice place, tourist pay thousands of dollars to camp in places like this. After Danny gets here I'll head on back down there and make myself at home. I am sitting here beside Zippity's Store and 2 little girls are across the street flirting with me. I can't look to bad, if I don't scare little children, another good sign! I feel funny sitting here out in the open. Its 7 miles down to Boiling Springs and I'll probably head down there after the week-end. I am familiar with that area, some.
